Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to parents, Saverio and Yolanda Chiodo.
After finishing high school, he enlisted with the Navy SeaBees. He served from 1969 to 1975, including a tour of Vietnam, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. He did not have to serve, as he was the sole surviving son, but he chose to serve his country proudly. Michael worked construction and heavy demolition in the Navy, and for many years after. He loved driving interstate for Frank Hlebakos Produce on the West Coast. Michael then worked and drove for Clover Stornetta, where he was awarded the Charlie Hessel Award and retired after 20 years. He always said one of his favorite jobs was working for Danny Azevedo Trucking. He loved the challenge of working in Marin County, where his skills were often put to the test. His last job was at Dairymen's Feed and Supply, where he enjoyed delivering to the ranches for many years, after which he retired for a second time.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles, he is survived by his forever-grateful wife, Lori, and family. Services provided by Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA 94952, on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Reception following at the Chiodo home.
