Stuart Reed Curtis, 92, a fourth generation Petaluman and son of Ernest and Phyllis Curtis, passed away on April 3rd, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1932, and spent his life in Petaluma.
He is survived by his wife Joann Marie, his son Steven and wife Donna, daughters Christine Andre and husband Paul, Carrie Curtis Gault, and Michelle Nelson and husband James; grandchildren Carolyn Bouchard (Joseph), Brian (Esther) and Eric (Melanie) Curtis, Marie and Camille Andre, and Harmon and Walter Gault; great grandsons Joseph, Henry, Edward, William, Arthur, and Martin.
Early in adulthood, Stuart had a passion for building, completing a house before his 24th birthday, and another six units over the next 10 years. Later, his energy was turned toward serving his wife and four children ensuring they had an excellent start in life.
Later in life, Stuart’s energy was directed toward helping his children’s growing families, and the Sonoma “A”s--a traveling Ford Model “A” club where he served as President.
Services will be held at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary on Wednesday, April 10, with viewing at 10 am, a service at 11 am, and burial at 12 noon, Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
