Passed away peacefully, in Nicasio, CA at the age of 86, in his family home where he was born and raised, surrounded by his family.
Calvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Darlene and his only sibling, Dorothy. He is survived by his children, Brian, Eric (Kathi), David (Heather), Sharon (Doug), Kenneth; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa & Ryan Beretta; Mark, Kyle & Danielle Dolcini; Erica, Andrea & Dayna Dolcini; and great-grandson, Brayden.
Calvin was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School, Class of 1949 and attended University of San Francisco, after which he returned to his home ranch in Nicasio where he was a lifetime dairyman. He enjoyed playing football for St. Vincent’s High School, and later played semi-professional baseball locally. Calvin’s passions in life include deer hunting on his family ranches and many trips out of state. He was always eager to share a good hunting story! He was a lifelong San Francisco 49’ers and San Francisco Giants fan, and enjoyed operating and maintaining his collection of bulldozers. Calvin was a long-time member of the Nicasio Druids and Native Sons of the Golden West.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. The Vigil Service will be Sunday at 7:00 pm at the mortuary. Family and friends are also invited to the Funeral Mass, Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. Interment will be private. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma.
