Ada Pearl Spitzer

ADA PEARL SPITZER passed away on November 28, 2016 in Petaluma at the age of 93. Devoted wife of the late Albert Spitzer. Cherished mother of Ron Spitzer of Hidden Valley Lake, Jerome Spitzer of Cloverdale, Donald Spitzer of Santa Rosa, Donna Lopes of Petaluma, and the late LaVerne Spitzer. Loving mother-in-law of Rosalie, Elizabeth, Vicky, and Linda Spitzer; and Joe Lopes. Adored grandmother of 16. Dear sister of LaVonne Hansen, Shirley Hutchens and the late Lucille Deckman, Lawrence Merkel and Walter Merkel. Survived by numerous adoring great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ada was born, reared and educated in Ashley, ND. She married the love of her life, Albert, on April 5, 1942 in Montana and together they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. One of Ada's passions was making people happy. She did this for numerous years while working downtown at J.C. Penney's, Sprouse Reitz, and Polly Ann Bakery. Ada was also an active member of Living Word Lutheran Church in Petaluma. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting and sewing. Her greatest love, though, was for her grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman; she will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:30 am at Living Word Lutheran Church, 901 Ely Blvd. S., Petaluma, CA 94954. A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.
