Alberta Mae Steinweg

Alberta Mae "Birdie" (Thomson) (Rank) Steinweg passed gracefully and quietly in the early morning on April 16, 2015 at the age of 89. Birdie was born in and passed in Santa Rosa, California. A shining light for all who knew her, Birdie leaves behind a legacy of caring, kindness, service, and friendship. She is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Steinweg, sons, James Edward Rank (Beverly), Thomas Lee Rank (Dianne), and John Charles Rank, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and sister Nona Carpenter (Duane). Birdie was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Thomson (Nonie). A short memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 2:00pm at the Cypress Hill Memorial Park in Petaluma (430 Magnolia Ave). Arrangements are being handled by Parent - Sorensen Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, Birdie requested donations be sent to the American Cancer Society. Birdie's last wish was for us just to remember her good days and years. It is comforting to know that Birdie loved the Lord and the Lord loved her. She is safe and free. Praise be to God.
