Alfred Herbert Bien

Alfred Herbert "Fred" Bien - Died at home February 12, 2008 with his devoted family by his side at the age of 75. Dearly beloved husband of Gladys Bien for 52 years. Devoted father and best friend of Ricky Bien and Randy Bien and his wife Laura Bien. Adored grandfather of Colby, Kendra Bien and Madison Bien. Survived by brother-in-law Gene Giorgetti and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. He was known as uncle to all. A native Petaluman, he served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954, then was employed as an engineer for 39 years at the California Co-Operative Creamery in Petaluma. He was also a member of SIRS #58 and the V.F.W. of Petaluma. He loved family vacations at his second home at lake Berryessa. Forever in our hearts, he will be greatly missed. Friends are invited to meet on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends are also invited to attend the Vigil Service, Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.
