ALICE (EGISTI) SILVEIRA entered into the Lord's presence on June 25, 2014 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Annibale and Rosa Egisti, growing up in downtown San Rafael along with her now deceased brother, John. She attended St. Raphael's Grade School and St. Anselm's High School, graduating in 1939. Soon after graduation, she married her husband George and worked in S.F. while he was serving overseas in WWII.
Faith and family were at the center of her life. She had a deep abiding faith in her Lord & Savior Jesus on whose grace and mercy she relied upon her entire life. She was devoted to her family, married 71 years to George, who preceded her in death last year, and raised 3 children: Judy (and Sam) Ross of Novato, Janet (and Santiago) Sosa of Santa Rosa, and Kevin (and Rose) Silveira of Madison, WI. She was the deeply loved Grandma and Nonnie to Christopher (and Susan) Ross, Stephen (and Sarah) Ross, Andre Silveira, Dominic Silveira and Ruth Sosa. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. For over 30 years, Alice was a volunteer at Nazareth House in Terra Linda. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Isabella Catholic Church, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael, CA 94903. She will be interred with George's remains at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Isabella's Catholic Church or Our Lady of Lourdes Convent for the Infirmed Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, 1520 Grand Ave., San Rafael, CA 94901.
