Alice Iona Wittlin

Alice Iona Wittlin - Alice Wittlin passed away in Santa Rosa on June 11, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Loving wife for 48 years to the late Edwin J. Wittlin. Devoted mother of Catherine Tietjen and her husband Allan of Crescent City, CA and Mark Wittlin and his wife Maria of NY. Cherished grandmother of Ana Baker, Julie Barone, Jeffrey Tietjen, Mark Tietjen, and Joseph Wittlin and great-grandmother of Hannah, Matthew, Caleb, Luke, Daniel, Lydia, Jessika, and Christopher. Dear sister of the late Mary Ross, Robert B. Burnham and Gertrude Kerr. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. Burial: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Veterans Section, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St. Petaluma, 94952. Alice was born in Lawrence, MA to Ethel (Johnston) and Robert H. Burnham. She graduated from the School of Nursing in Tewksbury, MA and served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (W.A.A.C.) and the Women's Auxiliary Service (W.A.S.) during WWII where she met and married Edwin John Wittlin.
