Allen Dale Hesla

Al was born in Renton, WA on November 22, 1952 and passed away in Petaluma, CA on February 11, 2020. He grew up in Washington until the age of 14 when the family moved to Novato, CA. Al attended San Marin High School. He then graduated from University of California at Berkeley. Al later obtained a Master’s degree from Golden Gate University. He worked for Kaiser Permanente and after retirement became involved in the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance. A few of his hobbies were birding, enjoying the outdoors, going on family camping trips, and attending many Grateful Dead concerts. Al is survived by his wife Amy, sons Andrew and Jonathan, his brothers Tim (Janet), Paul (Robin), and Scott, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and wonderful close friends.

As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance, Hospice of Petaluma, or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held later this year.
