Alta Virginia Christian

May 4, 1925 — August 1, 2015

ALTA VIRGINIA CHRISTIAN passed away on August 1, 2015 in St. Helena. Devoted wife of the late Finley Christian. Cherished mother of Glenn Willde (Lindy) of Clearlake. Beloved grandmother of William Willde, Angela Oliver, and Tanya Lawrence. Adored great-grandmother of Atticus Oliver and Noah Willde. Loving sister of Marie Webber and the late Leslie Miller, Grace Gingles, Harold Miller, Opal Rivers, Ruth Hunt, Ed Miller, and Esther Boyd. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age: 90 years. Virginia was born in Centralia, WA, but has been a resident of Calistoga since 1967. She worked as a medical assistant for many years for various physicians in St. Helena. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Truly an amazing lady and spiritually minded, she filled hundreds of shoeboxes every year and sent them to depressed areas all over the world. It was her passion to brighten someone else's day. To the residents of her mobile home park, Virginia was known as the greeter who made all newcomers feel welcome. She also took it upon herself to regularly visit her neighbors who didn't have family. Virginia was a remarkable woman; she will be greatly missed. Family & friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Clubhouse at the Rancho de Calistoga, 2412 Foothill Blvd., Calistoga, CA, 94515. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Family assisted by LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, Santa Rosa.
