Passed away peacefully in Valley Ford, CA on October 21, 2014. Andy was born on August 5, 1932 to the late Andrea and Eva Bordessa in Petaluma, CA. He was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County and lived in Valley Ford since he was 11. He attended Valley Ford Grammar School and Tomales High School where he excelled in sports. He married Louise Gonnella in 1956 and raised their family in Valley Ford. After 23 years, Andy retired from Shoreline Unified School District where he always had a smile on his face, a laugh ready to be heard, and change in his pocket if you needed money for lunch.
He was a loving husband to the late Louise Bordessa. Beloved father of Andy (Carter) Bordessa, Lori (Brian) Olson and Leone (Mel) Manni. He is also survived by his loving sister Norma Parker. Predeceased by his siblings John Bordessa, Art Bordessa and Rosemary Bordessa. He was affectionately known as Nonno and leaves behind his adoring grandkids Lauren and Aaron Bordessa, Rachel Gates, and Rebecka and Melissa Manni. Andy is survived by his sisters-in-law Marvel Bordessa, Daria Calvi and June Rossini and his brother-in-law Louie Ricci and numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to Varea Hanfrio who lovingly cared for Andy the past six years. Words cannot express our gratitude for the love and care you gave to him. Andy will be forever missed by those who knew him. He leaves behind a community of friends, neighbors and his card playing buddies.
Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, 7983 Covert Ln., Sebastopol. An evening Vigil Service will be held at the church at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014. Friends may call for visitation on Monday at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary-Sebastopol, 301 South Main Street, Sebastopol from 11:00 - 5:00.
