Angelo A. Mattioli - Passed away at home in Sebastopol, CA., Saturday, December 15, 2007, after a short illness. He was 81 years old. Beloved husband of Judy Mattioli. Loving father of Cheryl Mattioli and the late Kenneth Mattioli. Step Father of Debbie Krugle, Daniel Krugle, Jeff Krugle and Laura Krugle. Cherished grandfather of Leanna McAllister, John Mattioli Sullivan, Chris Mattioli, Amber, Justin, Dallas, Tawna and Veronica Krugle. Great grandfather of Erica Mattioli. Adored brother of Pete Mattioli and his wife Benita and Elaine Loosigian and her husband, Harold. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including his Godchildren, Amy Withington and Darleen Lococo. Angelo was born in Peckville, PA on January 13, 1926 to Pietro and Elena Mattioli. His father, a coal miner, moved his family to San Francisco in 1940 because he didnâ??t want his sons working in the mines. Angeloâ??s first job was at National Biscuit Company where he met Lillian Margaret Arntsen. They married and had two children, Cheryl and Kenny. He also worked as a butcher in San Francisco for many years. In 1952, his father bought a vineyard in Selma, CA where Angelo joined him to become a grape farmer. After Lillian passed away, he moved to San Carlos, CA. He married Judy Krugle and moved to Sebastopol in 1980. He was a partner with his brother, Pete, at the Music Box and For Peteâ??s Sake! Restaurants in Santa Rosa. For the past 21 years, he bartended at the Washoe House in Petaluma. He received the Purple Heart for his service in WWII, fighting under General Patton in France and Germany. He was a member of the V.F.W of Sebastopol, Tomales Druids and Petaluma Lodge #901 B.P.O.E. Family and friends are invited to meet on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Elks Ritual Service, at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday. The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma.
