Anita Flores

Surrounded by her beloved family, Anita (Annie) Ermalinda Flores, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, ended her journey and passed peacefully at her home on September 11, 2022, at the age of 65.

Anita was born in Salinas, California, on August 24, 1957, to Francisco Rodriguez and Sara Gamez. She met the love of her life, Manuel Flores, in Watsonville, CA, where they wed in 1974. They were married for 48 years. They raised their four children in Petaluma, CA, and have been residents of Sonoma County for many years.

Anita was a loving matriarch who would do anything for her family or anyone she encountered. She selflessly assured everyone was always taken care of. Anita was known for her cooking and entertaining. She would host great pool parties, birthdays, and every celebration in between. She loved every minute of being with her family, just as much as we loved being with her.

Anita was a person of devout faith. Her patron Saint, Charbel, is known for healing the sick. She was raised in the Catholic faith and shared that faith with her children. She took pride in having them complete their sacraments and including them in family prayer. One of her favorite prayers was reciting The Holy Rosary. Anita was fortunate to have taken several pilgrimage trips with her family. These included trips to Our Lady of Fatima and The Holy Land. She even had the privilege of seeing Pope John Paul II in Rome.

Anita is survived by her husband, Manuel, and children, Monica, Jesica, Albert, and Anita. She was a loving grandmother to Joseph, Andrea, Veronica, Mya, Jordan, Albert Jr., Jocelyn, and Noah.

Although our hearts mourn her, it brings us much peace to know she is now in heaven and free of pain. We will miss her more than words can express, but she will forever be in our hearts until we see her again.
