Anna Rich

Anna Rich - Anna M. Rich, a long time resident of Santa Rosa, died June 25, in Durham, North Carolina at the age of 94 after a brief illness. Anna was born on July 17, 1916 in Shasta County to Emilio and Emilia Silvestri. She had an older sister Margaret and two younger brothers Harry and Frank. In 1922 the family moved from the mining town of Kennet to a farm on Melita Road in Rincon Valley where Anna and her siblings were raised. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1934 and attended Sweets Business College in Santa Rosa. She worked at Kress and Co. for a number of years and in 1943 married Kenneth Rich when he was home on a three day pass from the Navy. In 1954, the couple purchased a farm on Guerneville Road where Anna lived for the next 53 years. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband. She is survived by her daughter Janice McCartney (husband Mike), son Bob Rich (wife Kandace); grandsons Chris Pace, (wife Micah), Michael Pace, (wife Nicole), Jonathan Rich and Matthew Rich. She is also survived by the latest men in her life, great-grandsons Caleb Rich and Grayson Pace.
