Anna Margaret Womack - Passed away peacefully at her Petaluma residence on August 17, 2012.
Devoted wife for 48 years to Charles Womack of Petaluma. Loving mother of NaTasha (Adam) Narver of Fairfax, VA, Jason (Kellie) Womack of Cotati, and Christopher Womack of Petaluma.

Anna was born in Abilene, TX and moved to San Francisco with her mother when she was 9. She attended and graduated from Balboa High School and then attended the University of California at Berkeley as well as San Francisco State University. She went on to earn degrees from San Francisco State, Dominican College, and a doctorate from the University of San Francisco. She began her 40 year professional career as an elementary school teacher at Reed School in Tiburon. She served as a Teachersâ?? Union Rep for Reed School. She was one of a group of volunteer teachers sent to Tupelo, MS in the 70â??s to help train and prepare African American teachers to work with white teachers in the newly integrated Mississippi School system. In 1973 Anna was chosen one of the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America. She served as Assistant Principal and Principal at Bel Aire School in Tiburon and later at Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley in Petaluma. She also spent time as a Studentsâ?? Dean at Mills College in Oakland and was an administrator/teacher trainer at Heald College in San Francisco.
