Anne Magdalene Dettling

On October 20, 2025, Anne Magdalene Dettling, 94 Years Old went to meet the Lord. 

She is survived by her children, Pam (Tom Hawkins), Renae (Bill Middleton), Beverly (Ken Larrabure), Shannon (Mark Ackerman), Mary (Aldo Bianchi), Tami Dettling, and Michael Dettling, She has 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by her Brother Daniel Schwan. She is preceded in death by her husband Dan Dettling of 75 years, her son, Danny Joe. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Magdalene Schwan, three sisters and six brothers. 

Anne and Dan moved to Sonoma County in 1960 and into Rohnert Park in 1962. Anne was a devoted wife and mother. She was a woman of strong Faith, and greatly involved with her Church, St. Joseph in Cotati. She taught Religious Education for 10 years, worked in the office as a counter for 16 years and was Woman of the year in 2012. She sang in the Church Choir 40 years and was the director for approx. 7 years. Her love of music goes back to her childhood where she sang in the Church Choir from the time she was 12. She loved to dance and was very social.

Wednesday, October 29, 2025, viewing from 3 to 6 with the Rosary at 6:00 at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma.

The Funeral Mass, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati.
