She was born to August and Pauline Schulte on April 26, 1926. She left her family and Minnesota at age 16 to move west.
She has out lived nine of her siblings leaving a brother, Edwin Schulte. She worked at the Manhattan Project in WA and then the Kaiser Shipyards in Oakland before marrying at age 20. At age 39 she became a single mother of 4 girls and 1 boy that resulted in 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated college at 46. At 51 was an accountant by day and flipped a house by night, after retirement was a deck hand on a charter fishing boat at Lawson’s Landing until she was 75. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, fishing, canning and one-arm bandits. Some of her many quilts will be displayed at her service.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:30 am at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Mortuary. Donations may be made to Hospice by the Bay, 190 West Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476. Interment: Tomales Catholic Cemetery.
