Arthur Gaines Bliss

ARTHUR GAINES BLISS passed away in his home on May 11, 2015. He was born in Denver, Colorado, on July 13, 1931. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, then married Claudia Shearer in 1954. Arthur served in the military, became an accountant, restaurateur, and Assistant Auditor Controller for the County of Sonoma. He was very active in the theater throughout his life. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia, daughter, GayLyn (Kenneth) Sloan, his brother, and three sisters. He is survived by three sons, A. Theodore, James (Sandi), and Bob; four daughters, Mary Bernice (Michael) Lewis, Pierrette (Rich) Jensen, Heather (Nathan) Bryner, and Bonita (David) Sisson; twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on May 14, from 4-8 pm at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory in Petaluma, and May 15, at 9:30 am at the LDS Church, 745 N. Webster St. Petaluma. The funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Family assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma.
