August James "Gus" Balistreri

Passed away at home in Petaluma, CA, August 15, 2016, beloved husband of Josephine A. Zolezzi Balistreri. Loving father of Joaquin "Jack" Balistreri (Kathy) of Freestone, Rosemary Garzelli (Jerry) of Petaluma, August "Augie" Balistreri (Kelly) of Santa Rosa, John Balistreri (Alvina) of Petaluma and Joseph "Joe" Balistreri (Joey) of Petaluma. Cherished grandfather of Giovanni Balistreri (Ashley), Mario Balistreri (Rachel), Andrea Fox (Justin), Stevie Irby (Jeremy), Mary Booth (Jake), Jesse Balistreri (Anae), Anthony Balistreri (Erica), Sarah Hickman (Billy), Amanda Balistreri, Brent Cresta (Jenny), Marina Balistreri, Vincente Balistreri, Dominic Balistreri and Kylie Balistreri. Great grandfather of 13. Brother-in-law of John E. Zolezzi, Jr. of San Diego and Jenny Balistreri of San Diego. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Gus' family wish to express their appreciation to his caregivers, Akanisi (Aggie) Ligairi and Tokasa Naqicatabua, for their kind care. A native of Wisconsin, Age 88 years. Gus, a retired insurance consultant, has been a Petaluma area resident for 47 years. He was active with the Petaluma Harmoneers and Harmonettes as well as the Kitchen Kut-Ups, and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the Italian Catholic Federation Branch #127. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Family and friends are also invited to the Funeral Liturgy, Monday, August 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma.
