Bernard V. Conophy - Passed away on August 10, 2008 in Petaluma. Devoted husband of the late Violet S. Conophy. Cherished father of Carol Curran (Mike) of Petaluma, Robert Conophy of Santa Rosa, Margaret Medeiros (Greg) of Windsor, and Elizabeth Lucchesi of Sonoma. Adored Poppa of Robert, Timothy, and Jon Curran; Kristina Conophy; Anthony Lucchesi; Margaret, Jenifer, Brian, and Amanda Medeiros; and the late Katie Curran. Beloved great-grandfather of Miranda, Bianca, Xavier, Diego, Gabriel, Daniel, Nathaniel, Caleb, Aaliyah, and Moses. Loving brother of Mary Brooks of NJ, Robert Conophy of MN, and the late Peter Conophy and Martin Conophy. Dear brother-in-law of June Mackintosh of Scotland and Sandra Kelly of Australia. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his faithful canine companion Duffy.

Bernard was born, reared, and educated in Brooklyn, NY. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Air Force. He moved his family to San Francisco in 1958 and later, in 1967, to Petaluma, which they made their home. An avid reader, Bernard gained much knowledge, utilizing this knowledge to teach his grandchildren and making him the best teacher they ever had. Proud of his Irish heritage, Bernard eagerly researched his familyâ??s lineage.
