Buzz Weis passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his Petaluma home on January 6, 2016. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his sons Steven Weis (Diane) and James Weis (Michelle) of Petaluma. Loving grandfather of Adam Weis (Clara) of Petaluma, Eric Weis (Ramey) of Walnut Creek, Clinton Weis of Chico, and Tyler and Drake Weis of Petaluma. He was the great-grandfather of Andrew Weis and Juliana Weis. He was married to the late Dervie Weis.
Buzz started working for his parents at Weis Floral Shop (now Chalet Florist) in Petaluma. He left high school his senior year to work at Mare Island until he was old enough to join the Navy and serve in WWII. Upon his return, he worked in boat repair before starting his own business, Harbor Boat Repair, in San Rafael.
A native Petaluman, Buzz lived most of his life at his ranch on Stadler Lane. With his contagious laughter, Buzz made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed long motorcycle trips, exploring the country and meeting colorful characters along the way. He loved camping trips, shooting pool, dancing, especially to the music of his sons' bands, and living life to the fullest.
In his later years, Buzz was lucky enough to have his two sons move back to Stadler Lane, living on either side of him. They enjoyed the simple life together, sharing drinks in the evenings and laughter unparalleled.
Everyone who met him agrees that "A day without a Buzz is like a day that never wuzz."
