Betty Jean Miller

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" Psalm 116:15 Passed away peacefully in Petaluma on December 7, 2013. Cherished wife of the late Victor Miller. Beloved mother of David and Betty Miller, Stephen and Mabel Miller, and Vicki Miller. Loving ‘Grami' of John and Ruth Miller, Sarah and Patrick Phillips, Johanna and Steven Ransley, Ben, Mary Frances, Rebecca, Michael, Elizabeth, Anna Rose, Abigail, and Isaac Miller, Jason and Natalie Moog, Jennifer and Andrew Bowen, and Joshua Moog. Doting great-Grami of Benjamin and James Phillips, Lydia, Nathaniel, Roman and Elyse Ransley, Autumn Moog, Tallulah, and Wemberly Bowen. A WWII Navy nurse, it seemed most fitting that she should receive her final transfer of orders on Pearl Harbor Day. She was stationed on Mare Island, New Caledonia, and Guadalcanal with the burn and psychiatric units. After the war she met and married Marine Captain Victor Vangel Miller in 1947 and enjoyed 38 blessed years together. A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, Betty came to Christ during her teen years. She was an active member of St. John's Anglican Church in Petaluma. Her faith was contagious. She is loved and will be missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 11:00 am. Please call the church office at 707-283-1111 for location. Burial: All Saints Cemetery, Oceanside, CA.
