Bonifacio A. Lapuz, Jr.

BONIFACIO A. LAPUZ, JR., passed away on June 23, 2018 in Rio Vista at the age of 78 years. Devoted husband of the late Geraldine Lapuz. Cherished father of Chris Lapuz, Janet Kerrigan (Patrick), and Eric Lapuz (Nasim). Beloved grandfather of Taylor, Justin, and Connor Kerrigan; and Grace, Ella, Lucie, and Sebastian Lapuz. Loving brother of Emerita, Citas, and the late Nellie, and Fellie. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bonifacio was born, reared and educated in Tarlac, Philippines. After moving to CA in 1965, he met and married the love his life, Geraldine, and together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage until her passing in 2015. He worked as a tax accountant for 40 years in San Francisco specializing in state taxes for major corporations. After retirement, Bonifacio was able to follow his passion for gardening and nature. He loved everything Sonoma County had to offer. He loved going wine tasting and spending time in Sonoma picnicking at the Park. He also enjoyed traveling to Bodega Bay, especially for some raw oysters. He was meticulous about himself and his health, enjoying his workouts at the gym. Most of all, Bonifacio enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private Inurnment at a later date in Alabama. Vigil Service
