BRENDA CHISHOLM passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6th at the age of 90. Born December 13, 1925 in Oakland, CA, she was the youngest daughter of Pearl and James Hay. In 1947, she married Leigh Chisholm and moved to Santa Clara where she worked as a school secretary while they raised two sons, James and David. After thirty-plus years in Santa Clara, Leigh and Brenda moved to Pleasanton then later to Oakmont in Santa Rosa to be closer to their grandchildren. Brenda was an active member in the Cal Alumni Club, Questers, and the Day Trippers of Oakmont. Brenda and Leigh loved to travel and after Leigh's passing she continued to travel with her dear friend Pete Dintiman.
Brenda is survived by her sister, Ruth Palmer of Oakland, sons James (Karen) of Petaluma, David (Carol) of Lafayette, grandchildren, Matthew (Liz), and Brian of San Francisco, and Lisa of San Jose. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years and her dear friend Pete Dintiman.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27th, at 11:00 am, at the Star of the Valley Church in Oakmont, Santa Rosa, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to: St. Joseph's Memorial Hospice or the Assistance League Thrift Shop both of Santa Rosa, or Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael.
