BRUCE FRANKLIN REED SR., passed away on Dec. 20, 2016 in Petaluma after a short 38-day, courageous battle with lung cancer.
The mold was broken when Bruce was born. He was one of a kind. He was born Aug. 2, 1940, in Merced, CA. He was the youngest of six and the only son born to Edwin and Rosa Reed. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Robin; three sons Brian, Curtis and Bruce Jr. “Frank”, and daughter Suzette and their spouses. His grandkids Brittany, Alyssa, Alex, Corrina, Madison and Chris were the light of his life. He is also survived by two sisters, Doris and Betty, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large extended daycare family and friends.
He worked in the dairy industry as a maintenance mechanic for over 30 years. Bruce has always worked with his hands. There wasn’t a tool he didn’t know how to use, nor was there a piece of machinery he didn’t know how to fix. He was always there to help friends and family even if it wasn’t asked for.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St. in Petaluma with a Celebration of his Life afterward at Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Ave., right down the street from the Creamery where he spent most of his working days.
