In Loving Memory of Carla Grube
Carla Grube lived a vibrant, full life defined by community service, deep devotion to her family, and an adventurous spirit. Carla shared a beautiful, devoted marriage of 56 years with her beloved husband, Skip Grube.
Professionally, Carla was known for her strong work ethic. She spent 30 years working at Viacom/Comcast-Northbay, earning the prestigious Employee of the Year award in 1992. Outside of work, Carla had an extraordinary passion for her community, dedicating her time and energy to numerous local organizations and boards. Carla volunteered as a radio operator from 1975 to 1991, at the Penngrove Fire Department. She served on the Rancho Adobe Board of Directors and the Pier 1900 HOA in Lake County. She was an active 4-H leader during her children's youth and has held membership in the Petaluma Riding and Driving Club, Native Daughters, and the Wine Country Corvette Club. During her last four months of memory care, Carla resided at Aroha Memory Care in the Oakmont community, where she was elected Chairman of the Board by her fellow residents.
Full of life and energy, Carla loved socializing and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren—regularly cheering them on at their various sporting events and tournaments. She loved traveling to Europe, as well as spending peaceful days boating at their lake house, and tending lovingly to her flower and vegetable gardens.
A true sports enthusiast, Carla was a dedicated 49er faithful, cherishing the memories of attending games at Candlestick Park, and she later embraced being a loyal San Francisco Giants fan as well.
Carla is survived by her loving husband Skip, her daughters Michelle, Toni (and husband, John Azevedo), son David, her sister Marcia Gazzola, and her two nieces Diana and Sharon. Carla will be lovingly remembered by her cherished grandchildren, Ali, Andy, Katie, and Kendall
Carla’s warmth, community spirit, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Thank you to all the staff at Aroha for the wonderful care you provided each day. Your kindness, patience, and Compassion means so much to our family. We are truly grateful for all that you did.
