Carmel (Collins) Soldavini - On July 4, 2009 Carmel (Collins) Soldavini passed away due to a brief illness at the age of 83. Laid to rest with her loving husband of 40 years, Frank Soldavini, on July 8, 2009 in Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Born and raised in Mill Valley she married Frank in 1945 and moved to San Anselmo where they raised their three children. In 1952 they built a summer home near Lake Tahoe where they enjoyed spending vacations and entertaining friends and family. In the 70's they relocated to Petaluma as their family expanded with grandchildren. Carmel was a happy and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She was dearly loved by so many and will be missed by all. Private services have been held. Donations in her honor may be sent to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St. Petaluma, CA 94952. She is survived by her son William (Marsha) Soldavini; daughters Marjorie (Dr. Robert) Goodman and Marianne DeLaMontanya; grandchildren Gina Lipori, Jennifer (Luke) Howard, Laraine Lipori, Dustin DeLaMontanya and Ceci DeLaMontanya; Kim, Dina and Betsy Soldavini; her great grandchildren Ashlyn Lipori-Russie, Landon and Kahlan Howard; her sisters Ceil Vanderveen and Lorraine Keyes and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Soldavini in 1985 and her longtime companion Chester Orr in 2007. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, and five sisters.
