Carolyn Sue Van Bebber

Carolyn Sue Van Bebber 1942 - 2018

Passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2018 in Petaluma at the age of 75.  Carolyn was born into a loving family in Heber Springs, AR on October 5, 1942.  Her mother, Lou Angeline Bailey, cared for her with the support of family until her father, Hobert Bailey, returned home from the war in 1945.  In 1949, they moved west eventually settling in Antioch, CA where she was raised.  On her first day of college, she met Carol Van Bebber through whom she would meet Ronald G. Van Bebber, her husband for 52 years.  She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Dietetics and worked as a dietician for Marin General and Sonoma County Community Hospitals before devoting herself to raising her children.   For the past 40 years, she has enjoyed her life and family on Bennett Ridge in Santa Rosa.

Sadly, their home was lost in the recent Nuns Fire.  Carolyn was working hard to create a new place to call home.  We are grateful that she has found a peaceful place in heaven, and we will miss her dearly.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ron, her daughter, Kathleen Mughannam and husband Ramy, son, Christopher Van Bebber and wife Stephanie, and adored grandchildren, Sarah, Caroline, and Walter.  She is also survived by uncles, Bill Bailey and Willie Dale Stark, aunt, Geraldine Schutte and cousins, Kathy Fulcher & Carl Stark.

Memorial contributions can be made to either the Commonweal Organization or the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine in honor in of her son who is enduring brain cancer treatment.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.   A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm also at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY.   Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
