CJ Banaszek, resident of Petaluma, passed away on Tuesday, July 15th, at the age of 13 after a long battle with leukemia. CJ passed quietly in his sleep with his mother right next to him sleeping quietly as well.
Casimir Joseph Banaszek IV was born October 17, 2000 in Petaluma, CA where he lived all his life.
For those of you who did not know CJ, he was a very special person - kind, thoughtful, quiet, funny and very smart - who loved pretty much everyone and was loved back in kind. Throughout his two and a half year illness, he served as an inspiration of strength, persistent good nature, tenacity and grit to the Petaluma Community who united behind CJ Strong with orange everything, fundraisers, painted car windows & unstoppable support for him and his family.
CJ is survived by his parents, Cas and Heather, his sister, Gabrielle; his grandparents Sara, Cas Sr. and Diann, all Petaluma residents and his grandparents Rod and Sandra of Fresno. He is further survived by his cousins, aunts and uncles.
