Catherine Cecilia Rice - RICE, CATHERINE CECILIA" Entered into rest, December 19, 2007 in Kenwood, CA. Dearly beloved and cherished mother of John A. (Ann) Rice of Napa, CA and Midge M. (Ray) Hieber of Novato, CA. Adored grandmother of Anne (Dan) Leyva of San Francisco, Alicia (Ian) Connelly of San Francisco, Michael Hieber of Tucson, AZ and William Hieber of San Diego, CA. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of San Francisco"s Noe Valley, born on Diamond Street and lifelong California resident, age 93 years. Catherine is preceded in death by her husband John in 1988, as well as her beloved brothers; Gerald Kelleher in 1962, Raymond Kelleher in 1976, the Reverend Daniel Kelleher, S.J. in 1978 and her sister; Marian Kelleher in 1991. Catherine has been a resident of our community for the past thirty years and was a parishioner of Star of the Valley Catholic Church in Oakmont. Family and friends are invited to meet at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 9:00 A.M. thence to Star of the Valley Catholic Church, 545 White Oak Drive, Santa Rosa (Oakmont), CA, 95409, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Those desiring to attend Committal Services following Mass are invited to meet at 2:00 P.M. at the Holy Cross Cemetery (Chapel), 1500 Mission Blvd., Colma, CA, 94014. LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL will provide visitation hours from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2007, where a Vigil Service will commence at 7:00 P.M. in the main chapel.
