Charles Baum - Passed away at his Sebastopol home surrounded by his loving family on January 26, 2012. Devoted husband of 60 years to the late Anni Baum. Adored father of Paulette Miller and her husband Philip of Saratoga, CA and Estelle Baum and her husband Dr. Donald Calvo of Oakland, CA. Dear grandfather of Andrew Miller, Jonathan Miller, Sarita Calvo and Daniel Calvo. Beloved brother of Michael Baum and brother-in-law of the late Ida Baum. Dear uncle of Harold Baum, Jane Gianino, Jeffrey Baum, Maria Baum, and the late Barry Baum. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2 PM at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Burial will be at B'nai Israel Cemetery, Petaluma. In honor of Charles, tribute donations may be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 15th St. S. W., Washington, DC 20024. Charles was born in Radom, Poland. After surviving The Holocaust, he and his wife Anni immigrated to the United States in 1947. They made their home in San Francisco but, drawn to the beauty of Sonoma County, soon relocated to Sebastopol. This is where he started his long career in the poultry business. He will be remembered for his generosity, love of nature, and commitment to family and friends.
