Charles W. "Chuck" Hartley - Chuck Hartley passed away peacefully at his Petaluma residence on January 9, 2008. Devoted husband of Loretta Hartley of Petaluma. Chuck is survived by his adopted Brazilian family: Dr. Adelia Almeida Cardoso, her husband Dr. Getulio Cardoso and their daughter Amanda Cardoso). Loving brother of Lynda Ammons, and Carole Reif, of Petaluma. Dear brother-in-law of Cliff Reif, Donna and Bob Tyree and Martin and Maria Lee. Chuck will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Fifty-eight years ago, Chuckâ??s parents Bill and Lil Hartley, opened the first Mexican food restaurant in Petaluma and Chuck began his working career helping in the family business. Chuck spent the next 29 years in Banking and Mortgage lending. He was dedicated to the Petaluma community and spent over 22 years actively involved as a member and past President of Petaluma Valley Rotary. One of his most cherished accomplishments while President was being instrumental in bringing women into Rotary. In addition to his work with Rotary, Chuck was a 15 year member of Petaluma Boys and Girls Club serving as Director and President. Golf and being a â??Niner faithfulâ?? were his favorite pastimes.
