Charlotte Irene Dougan

Charlotte Irene Dougan passed away quietly on Monday, April 5 at home in Petaluma. She was 93. Charlotte is survived by her husband Harold Dougan of nearly 70 years, her sister Martha Brown and brother Perry Hillburg. She was a loving mother to three children, son Ken Burge and wife Sharon, son Rodney Dougan and wife Arden, daughter Denise Joyner and husband Dean, and was a grandmother of six and great-grandmother of four. Daughter of Orrin and Irene Hillburg, Charlotte was born on May 24, 1927 in Corry, Pennsylvania where she lived until moving to California with her parents during World War II. She and Harold owned Paradise Pool Service in San Rafael for many years.  Her joy was in spending time with her many friends and family and holding weekly card games. She was a voracious reader, sharing her favored books with her fellow readers. Throughout the years, she enjoyed family gatherings at Samuel P. Taylor and weekend RV adventures in California and beyond. Charlotte will be held dear and missed by the many who love her.
