CHESTER MANNI passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on May 28th, 2014 after a long illness. Born February 3, 1934 in Jenner, Ca. The family later settled in Valley Ford. He attended Tomales High School and went straight into the family business. Chester married Maryann Serio in 1962. Chester and his brother William ran Manni Bros. Dairy till 1973. He then embarked in a new career as the head greens superintendent at Bodega Harbour Golf links for the next 30 years. Chester was on the committee for the Sonoma County Fair auction for many years, he and his wife Maryann started the Fern Grove 4-H club. He was a member of the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department and was the fire chief many years ago. Chester was always the go to guy if you needed something done or a helping hand. Never turned his back on anyone, encourage others to stop by and pull up to the table. His big smile and warm heart will never be forgotten by those that met him.
Chester predeceased by the death of his wife Maryann. Survived by his children: Timothy, Joseph, James, Lisa (Mark), Christopher (Trish). Chester is also survived by six grandchildren Dillon, Amy, Steven, Claudia, Sean and Kevin, and preceded by grandson Beau. Brother Donald Manni sister Margaret Bordessa; numerous nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Robert, William Jr and Samuel predeceased him.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 4th from 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY-Sebastopol, 301 S. Main St., Sebastopol with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastopol. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Bodega on Thursday June 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Bodega. The family prefers donations to Memorial Hospice, Sonoma County 4-H Foundation or your favorite charity.
