CHRIS TOMIO INAGAWA passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on January 19 at the age of 73. Born in Colorado to Hichiro Inagawa and Yoshiko Kawamoto. Survived by wife, Angelina of 47 years; daughters, Terry and Patricia with respective husbands; son, Chris Jr; grandsons, Marcus, Brady and Evan James; older sister, Betty Goto; step-sons, Glenn and Robert; stepdaughter Linda; and beagle Bisquito.
During World War II, Chris' parents and sisters were relocated from Petaluma, CA to Colorado and interned at the Granada Relocation Center which is known as "Amache". While at Amache, Hichiro and Yoshiko welcomed their son Chris, who was born on December 25th, 1942. While interned, the Inagawa family had the fortune of good neighbors who took care of their farm in Petaluma until the war ended. Upon return, the Inagawa family resumed a normal life and Chris grew up in rural Petaluma. During the Vietnam War, he enlisted in the US Army, did his basic training at Fort Ord and was assigned to Army Intelligence where he obtained the rank of sergeant. While in the US Army, he met his beloved wife Angela and they married in 1968. Upon honorable discharge from the Army, Chris and Angela returned to Sonoma County where they started a family and he attended college. He graduated from Sonoma State University in 1973 and worked for State Farm Insurance for over 40 years as an insurance agent. In retirement, Chris and Angela enjoyed traveling, watching their grandchildren grow up, and spending time with their close friends they had made from involvement with numerous classic car clubs in Sonoma County. Chris was an amazing husband, father and friend. Sincere, caring, helpful and respectful are only a few adjectives that can describe him. He was beloved by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. The family would like to thank the many close friendships he made throughout his years.
