In Loving Memory of Clarice Elizabeth Vyenielo (October 23, 1926 – July 4, 2024)

Clarice Elizabeth Vyenielo, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandma, passed peacefully on July 4, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Oakland, CA, she was a lifelong resident of Petaluma, CA, where she touched the lives of many.

As the only child of Art and Mae Frengle, Clarice grew up with a strong sense of family values. She attended St. Vincent Grammar and High School, where she excelled academically and formed lifelong friendships. Her dedication to education continued as she served as an administrative assistant at St. Vincent High School.

Clarice’s greatest joy was her family. She and her husband, LeRoy Vyenielo, celebrated 66 years of marriage—a testament to their enduring love. Together, they raised six children: Bill, Kathy, Paul, Lisa, David, and Chris. Clarice adored her thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, finding immense happiness in their laughter and milestones.

Beyond her role as a mother and grandmother, Clarice was an artist at heart. She expressed her creativity through cooking, gardening, and puzzles. Her love for board games and cards brought the family together during countless evenings. Even at 97 years she could still play a mean game of Chinese Checkers. An avid sports fan, Mom enthusiastically cheered at games for her teams – her kids’, grandchildren’s, Warriors, Giants and 49er’s teams.

Clarice’s faith was central to her life. She was a founding member of St. James Catholic Church, where her kindness and compassion touched everyone she met. Her legacy of love, resilience, and faith will forever inspire those who knew her.

In honor of Clarice Elizabeth Vyenielo, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. We will forever know your beautiful smile and the warmth of your love. Rest in peace Mom, you are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
