Clem was born November 22, 1919 in Chickasaw County, Iowa, the son of Henry and Agnes Finnegan. He was a Corporal in the 571st Air Service Squadron during WWII. After the war, he returned to Iowa to farm and married Monica Lynch on May 8, 1948. In 1962, they moved to Daly City, California where Clem worked for Safeway Coffee Plant for over 20 years. They retired to Sebastopol in 1985 and enjoyed many years serving the St. Sebastian Church community. Clem died Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Los Altos Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Center at 96 years of age.
Survivors include a son, James Finnegan (Joanie), and a daughter, Jane Folena (Paul); three grandchildren - Roberto Folena, Amanda Folena, and Shannon Finnegan; a great-granddaughter, Felicity Karr, and a sister, Delores Finnegan, who resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Clem was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Finnegan, his wife, Monica Finnegan, and his sister, Mary Catherine Bruhn.
The Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place at St. Sebastian Catholic Church at 11:30am on Saturday, January 2, 2015 in Sebastopol, California. The burial is at Sebastopol Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
