Daisy Lena Lombardi

Daisy Lena Forcucci Lombardi, born in Iron River MI January 21, 1921 and raised in West Allis, WI, died June 12, 2017 in Petaluma, CA. Preceded in death by loving husband Dovilio “Dovey” Geno Lombardi, son Gerald T. Lombardi, and daughter Annette E. Lombardi. Survived by children Catherine Fautley (Gregg) Peter Lombardi (Kelly), Theresa Lombardi (James Hubbard), and daughter-in-law Rosemarie Lombardi, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She married Dovey in November 1941 and lived in Iron River before moving to Petaluma in May 1947, with no snow to shovel! The Lombardi family opened Lombardi's Men's and Boy's Shop in Petaluma, and Lombardi's Market in Cotati. Daisy had a long volunteer career that started back in Michigan knitting sweaters for servicemen, and continued in Petaluma with many organizations including: cub scouts, campfire girls, PTA, Parents and Friends of St. Vincent's, Petaluma Valley Hospital.  "Life has no meaning unless you do what you can to help each other." She was a life member Petaluma Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Petaluma Riding and Driving Club, Y.L.I. #108 of St. Vincent's and Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary. She walked with her father, Julius Forcucci when he paraded alone, effectively restarting the Petaluma Veteren's Parade. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Mortuary.  Donations can be made to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma. Visitation
