Dare Scott - Passed away on July 3, 2010 in Petaluma. Devoted husband of the late Clarice Jean Scott. Cherished father of Donald Scott (Marlene) of CO and David Scott (Michelle) of Petaluma. Beloved grandfather of Darek and ReAnn Scott both of CO and Chelcie Scott of AZ. At the familyâ??s request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Dare was born in Ft. Bragg, CA to Madolyn and Fletcher Scott, both CA natives. He was reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School. In 1950, Dare married Clarice in Carmel and together they enjoyed nearly 57 years of marriage. A skilled tennis player and as a junior high school student, he beat the high school tennis team. Dare also won the CA State Championship in tennis 3 years in a row, 1937-1939. During WWII, he served in the US Army under a Commanding Officer who also recognized his tennis ability, and together, they played against the French champions. His greatest association during the War was meeting Eleanor Roosevelt. Upon returning home, Dare began work for Poultry Producers as mill manager for 30 years. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed fishing. Above all, he loved his family; he will be missed.
