Darlene Joy Larochelle

Darlene (Dolly) Veronda, Jensen, LaRochelle passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022, in Santa Rosa, CA. Beloved daughter of Jim and Evelyn Veronda, sister of Joann (Richard). Dolly was 82 years old. She was preceded in death by her child, Coleen; her parents, Jim and Evelyn Veronda, and former husband, Chris (Buddy) Jensen.

Dolly was born in Petaluma and lived on Chapman Lane on the family farm. She married her high school sweetheart, Chris (Buddy) Jensen, right after graduating Petaluma High School in 1959. Dolly had four children. She is survived by her husband, Jeff LaRochelle; children: Joe Jensen (Robin), Jim Jensen (Carolyn) and Julie Caprara (Joe) and five grandchildren: Jessica, Johnny, Kristina, Teresa and Frankie. Also, eight beautiful great-grandchildren; nieces, Toni Cameron and Jolene Lyons; cousins; and close family friends.

Dolly was a member of 4-H, and she raised and showed sheep at the fairs. She was a member of The Rainbow Girls. Dolly was the Centennial Princess of The Petaluma Centennial in 1958.

Dolly had many friends throughout the years while she lived in the Penngrove area and loved to entertain everyone at her parties. Dolly was independent and loyal, and always loved to laugh and enjoy her life.

Dolly worked as a school bus driver in the Penngrove area, and for a time at Marvin's on the Boulevard. She was also a hostess at Volpi's Restaurant, where she met and fell in love with her husband, Jeff LaRochelle. Jeff and Dolly had a great life together for 32 years.

The family wishes to thank caregiver, "Alma", at The Carriage House facility in Santa Rosa. Donations in Dolly's name may be made to Sutter Hospital Hospice.

Dolly's ashes will be scattered at a later date. At her request, there will be no services.
