Darlene Anastasia Evart (Liparini) born February 3, 1945 died peacefully December 31, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Survived by and loving mother of James Evart, his wife Tina, and Brenda Evart. Devoted and adoring grandmother to Jack, Samantha, Kelley and Christine. Darlene also had a special bond and caring relationship with Jack and Samantha’s brother Henry and their father Chip. Survived also by sisters Nancy, Kathleen, Patty, Laurie and Alyson(Jonny), and brothers Dan(Diane) and John; nieces Jeannie (Dave); Ashley, Lindsay(Peter), Jacquelyn(Tommy) and Heather; nephews Daniel, Michael and Jacob; great aunt to Tyler and Sydney, Logan and Harlee.
Darlene was preceded in death by her cherished parents Alfred and Dorothy Liparini, brother Tom and niece Jessica.
Darlene was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and moved with her parents to Petaluma, Ca in 1950, where she graduated from St. Vincents’s High School in 1962. She lived in Petaluma for 46 years before moving to Santa Rosa. She enjoyed a long career with Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies, before needing to change careers in her late fifties, which she did so successfully, working at the radio station KZST for twenty years before retiring in 2021.
Darlene was devoted to her family and friends, often being sought out for and providing guidance, comfort, and support for those who reached out to her. One of her passions earlier in her life was coaching girls’ softball, which she did for 10 years with her sister Kathleen with the Petaluma Girl’s Softball association, at times coaching two teams in the same year. She was also an avid reader, especially enjoying mystery and adventure novels.
Visitation January 11, 2025 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by service at Parent-Sorenson Mortuary, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma Ca. Burial, Monday, January 13, 2025 11 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 304 Magnolia Ave., Petaluma Ca. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Petaluma or the Alzheimer's Association.
