David Jacknowitz

David Jacknowitz - Passed away at his home in Petaluma with his family by his side on December 21, 2007. Devoted husband of the late Toby Jacknowitz. Loving father of Leenie Atwood (Jim), Robin Weinzveg (Barry), Sherry Drake (Tom) and Joanne Guth (Dan). Cherished grandfather of Daniel Drake, Sheldon Atwood, Hahna Weinzveg, Jacob Weinzveg, Joseph Guth and Dylan Guth. Great-grandfather of Kali Drake. Loving brother of Rita Rabinowitz, Seymour Jacknowitz (Vivienne), and the late Sheldon Jacknowitz. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his dog and companion, Max. He was born and reared in New York and later in life made Petaluma his home. Mr. Jacknowitz was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was one of the original drivers for the Petaluma transit system. Mr. Jacknowitz held court daily with his friends at the Redwood Fitness Club. . He was a friend to many and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He was 85 years of age Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 11:30 AM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma. Interment will follow at Bâ??nai Israel Cemetery, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hadassah c/o Congregation Bâ??nai Israel in Petaluma or to the Congregation Bâ??nai Israel Menâ??s Club, 740 Western Ave., Petaluma, CA 94952.
