David Charles Traversi

May 13, 1934 — March 19, 2025

Petaluma, California

David C. Traversi was born on May 13, 1934 in Petaluma to Charles and Josephine Traversi. He passed on his own terms, surrounded by his loving wife and family on March 19, 2025, at his home in Petaluma. Dave attended Saint Vincent de Paul schools for his primary and secondary education, and obtained his Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate in Law from University of San Francisco.  The law degree was earned after a career in banking, after serving on a jury which piqued his interest in becoming an attorney.  With four young children at home, he opened a general law practice in Petaluma; one of the early practicing attorneys in his hometown. After retiring in the 1990's, he went on to be a volunteer HICAP counselor, working with seniors in the local community, educating them on their options for Medicare coverage. But what Dave loved to do more than anything - was EVERYTHING. He was a true Renaissance man who did everything in life that he wanted to.  He wrote and published two books, he earned his pilot's license and flew for over forty years to wherever the runways called him. He was an avid runner, skier - both water and snow, loved deep sea fishing, diving, restored an old mahogany boat as well as his beloved WWI Tigermoth airplane. He was an artist, a strong athlete in both football and baseball - playing for the legendary Leghorns of Petaluma. His extraordinary curiosity took him far and wide, nourishing memorable friendships where ever he went.  To say he will be missed in an understatement, but his stories will live on. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nadine Traversi, of over eighteen years, which was preceded by a twelve-year courtship.  Also survived by his children, Marrianne C McBride, David M Traversi, Diane M Traversi and Stephen M Traversi. He was grandfather to eight, and great grandfather of seven. Preceded in death by father, Charles Traversi, mother Josephine Traversi and sister, Joan Sheldon Conan. At his request, there will be no services.  If you wish to contribute in Dave's memory, the family prefers that you designate the charity of your choice or to Saint Vincent De Paul College Prep.
