Passed away February 17, 2013 at the age of 77. Born June 4, 1935 in Orangevale, reared in Sonoma by the late Emerys and Virginia Williams and loving grandfather, Dr. Raymond St. Clair. Brother of the late Trish Carter. Loving husband of Marilyn Williams. Father of Michael David (Deanne) Williams and David Raymond (Angel) Williams II. Step-father of Dennis (Sheri) and Douglas (Ann) Slaydon and Julie (John) Helm. Grandfather of Danielle (Tyler Stark), Mallorie, Meaghan, Delayna and Devan, Alannah, Nicolette, Nathaniel, and Jacob Williams, Jason (Andrea), Ben, and Christina Ferguson, Eli and Schuyler Slaydon. Great grandfather of to Bella Stark, Jullianna, Isabella, Michael James and Emily Grace Ferguson. At a young age, he began working for Victor Leveroni on his ranch and was a life-long friends to Vic and his son, Bob. A graduate of Sonoma Valley High School in 1953, he remained in contact with his classmates to the end.
Dave had attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, following high school and prior to entering the service e in the late 1950's. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army in Ramstein, Germany, attaining the rank of SPC 3. After his adventure of having his own truck stop at the "Y" of Hwy. 101 and Lakeville Hwy., he went to work for Petaluma Co Op Creamery. When Gene Benedetti desired to do away with the ranchers hauling milk cans to the Creamery, Dave offered to contact Al Scanvino in the Valley, who he knew from the truck stop affiliation to aide Gene in finding tanker trucks to purchase for milk hauling. Thereafter Dave planned the truck routes for milk hauling. In his retirement he spent time with his family, friends and classmates from Sonoma Valley. He shall be remembered by his entertainment skills, his singing, whistling and story telling.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial service, Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hessel Church, 5060 Hessel Avenue, Sebastopol, CA. Private inurnment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefer memorials be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma.
