Dick Andrews - Dick Andrews passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Rosa on May 27, 2008. He was the adored and devoted partner of Hal Damro for over 45 years.
As per his wishes there will not be a service. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice, 821 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Dick was born in Chicago, IL to the late Edith and Searle Andrews. He attended Mcalester College in St. Paul, MN, and the New York and Chicago Artist of Design. Dick spent 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War. Upon returning to San Francisco he went to work at Gumps as a Dept. Head. In 1963 he and Hal became owner/operators of the â??Lagunitas Gardensâ?? in Lagunitas and moved to Petaluma. Dick has always had his hand in antiques: buying, selling or appraising. While living in Petaluma he became very active in Hospice of Petaluma as a caregiver, fundraiser and a member of the Advisory Board.
