Dolores Mae Brazill

May 13, 1930 — June 2, 2017

Dolores Mae Brazill was surrounded by the love of four generations of family as she peacefully passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017. Dolores was born to William O. Kroft and Gladys F. Kroft (Moffit) of Penngrove. She was born in Ashland, Oregon on May 13, 1930 and grew up on the family ranch in Penngrove. The oldest of four children, she distinguished herself early on with her quick wit and finely executed pranks; a trait endearing her to family and friends throughout her life. Dolores attended Penngrove Elementary School, proudly graduated from Petaluma High School in 1949, and attended The Dental Nurses Training School in San Francisco. In 1950, Dolores married Joseph Brazill, a fellow Petaluma High graduate. After living a short time in St. Helena, they settled in Sebastopol where they raised three children. Together they founded many successful businesses in Sonoma, Napa and Yolo counties including Analy Pharmacy, El Molino Pharmacy, Silverado Pharmacy, Dollar Drug, and El Macero Pharmacy. Dolores always took special care in keeping in touch with friends and family and could always be depended on to keep everyone up to date on the latest family news, including upcoming birthdays and special occasions. Dolores loved hosting gatherings and holiday celebrations whether big or small; and, she extended her warmth and gracious nature from Jago Bay in Lake County, to Sonoma County and to everyone she met. Dolores was also a lifetime member of Rainbow Girls and of Beta Sigma Phi. Dolores was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Kroft, father William Kroft, and younger brother Mark Kroft. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Joseph W. Brazill, her sister Carolee Van Bebber (Royce), brother Bill Kroft (Sue) her three children Cathi McKeon (Mike), Brad Brazill (Stacey) and daughter Diane Brazill Spencer, and lovingly adored by her eleven grandchildren Karleigh Frisbie, Alycia Madden, Molly Ashe, Aaron Frisbie, Foster McKeon, Michael McKeon, Ben Spencer, Ashley Reed, Nathan Brazill, Joseph Brazill, Anderson Brazill, and 8 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of her life on June 10th at 12:00 p.m. The service will be at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA, followed by a reception.
