Dolores E. "Dee" Guyton - Born January 5, 1931, in Texarkana, Texas, and moved to Dallas with her family at an early age. After graduating from Sunset High School, she worked as a secretary in Engineering at Chance-Vought Aircraft. She rose to become Administrative Assistant to the Chief of the Flight Test Division. Dee passed away in Petaluma on January 17, 2013. She is survived by her husband Sam, daughters; Teresa Guyton of Dallas, TX, Judy Dahle and her husband Gary of LaVerne, CA and her son Sam Guyton, III and his wife Kelly of Mill Valley, CA. Grandmother of Jessica, Michael, Brandon, and Trevor. She married Sam Guyton in 1956 to create a home and to have three children while her husband pursued his Air Force career. She had been active in various parishes teaching catechism and playing the organ. Her volunteer work included Camp Fire Girls and later her special efforts for the Girl Scouts which included troop leader, trainer, and Neighborhood Chairman in England, Germany, and Colorado. On one special occasion, she had the good fortune to meet with the original Girl Guide, Lady Baden-Powell.After her husband retired from USAF, she and the family settled in Woodland Park, Colorado. She became active in the Republican Central Committee and actively campaigned for numerous candidates, including her husband.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Creamtory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Inurnment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma.
