Donald Ramatici passed away at his home with this family by his side on Friday February 9th 2018. Devoted husband of the late Janice Ramatici. Cherished father of Susan Powers (Tom), Joan Gladson (John), Paul Ramatici (Jackie) and the late Donna Ramatici and John Ramatici. Adored Grandfather of 14 and Great-grandfather of 13. Loving brother of the late Stan Ramatici. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Don graduated from USF and played for the USF Don’s football team. He was a player and coach for the Petaluma Leghorns. Don established Don Ramatici Insurance 60 years ago. Don participated in many organizations in the Petaluma community. He was a 68-year member of the Petaluma Elk’s club, the Native Son’s, the Elk’s Foundation, and the Elk’s Hall Association. Don was a past Rotary President and board member. He was a member of the Petaluma Hospice Board and Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation Board and received the 2013 Gene and Evelyn Benedetti Leadership Award for his generosity and years of community service Don was one of the founding fathers of Northbay Savings and Loan, in Petaluma. One of his greatest personal achievements was raising money for the St. Vincent de Paul Church Campaign Fund. The church always had a special place in his heart as he was the first baby baptized in that church. Don loved sports, especially football. He was instrumental in raising funds for the Durst Field renovation. Don belonged to various hunting clubs and enjoyed lifelong friendships that were established. One of Don’s passions was making BBQ chicken and Risotto. First and foremost was his love for family and friends. He was a generous and wonderful man who will be greatly missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic, 35 Liberty St. Petaluma, CA. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. with a Rosary at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 7:00 P.M. Private Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery- Petaluma.
