Donna Mae Larsen

Donna Mae Larsen - Passed away peacefully on June 28, 2012 in Petaluma at the age of 85. Devoted wife for 65 years of Jim P. Larsen. Loving mother of Karen Larsen, Dr. Jim A. Larsen, Ann Ellsworth (Skip), Jane Higgins, Joan Larsen Spiller, and Ray Larsen. Adored grandmother of Sandra Nelson, Jeffrey Scullen, Ashlee Ellsworth, Amy Ellsworth, Heidi Higgins, Carly Raymond (Justin), Melanie Higgins, Kelly Higgins, Kaycee Spiller, Joe Larsen, Jessica Larsen and Ella Larsen. Great grandmother of Justin and Evan Nelson. Sister of Sharon Schroeder (John), and the late Dale Chancellor. Donna was born in Casper, Wyoming and as a young child her family moved out to Southern California. She met her husband Jim at a Navy dance in Long Beach. She loved to dance and became an early member of the Cotillion Club in Petaluma. Her first job in town was at Murphyâ??s Chevrolet. She followed her six children through school when she worked as a teacherâ??s assistant and secretary to the junior and senior high schools in the Petaluma School District. She was involved with many school activities, loved to sing in choir, and with the Harmoneers and Harmonettes. Donna played golf and was a member of the Petaluma Golf and C.C. She loved to play Bridge and was a member of the Danish Sisterhood of America and Dania Lodges. Our wonderful mother loved to compliment people, and was a very giving person to her family and friends. She loved to travel with Jim, and enjoyed music, art, and her roses. She always had a beautiful smile and warm personality. Donna will live on in family, friends, and all who knew her wonderful kind spirit.
