Dorothy Louise Bordessa of Petaluma died peacefully on January 30, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy was born June 13, 1929 in Petaluma and was the daughter of Chester Alfred Greppi and Marie Evelyn Greppi (Guldagher). She was a graduate of Petaluma High School and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. Dorothy married her husband, Bruno Wilfred Bordessa in October of 1951 at Church of the Assumption in Tomales, California. After her marriage to Bruno, they lived on Bay Ranch in Marshall until 1961 when they moved to Petaluma.
Dorothy looked forward to her daily crossword puzzles, loved to garden as well as playing the piano and accordion. She was a big fan of attending her children's sporting events and Bruno’s softball games. She looked forward to visiting their ranches in Two Rock and Valley Ford as well as their son’s home in Bodega Bay Harbor, where she would often be spotted at The Tides Restaurant for lunch. She was an avid supporter of the Golden State Warriors, SF Giants, and 49ers.
Dorothy was very close to her mother-in-law, Carrie Bordessa, and relatives Ann Campbell and Betsy Streckfus. Dorothy is survived by her four children; Joe (Doreen) Bordessa, Jim (Lynn) Bordessa, Linda Bordessa, and Al Bordessa, her grandchildren; Kristin Bordessa (Chris Gunn), Brian Bordessa (Melissa Dickman), Lisa Bordessa (Ryan Landeck), Brandon Bordessa and Amber Bordessa and her great-grandchildren; Carter, Juniper, Lilianna, Josephine and Malani. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We would like to thank Dorothy’s doctors, Dr. Keith Korver, Dr. Anand Soni and Dr. James Leoni for all of their wonderful care.
Private services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family prefers memorials be made to Wilmar Fire Department in Petaluma.
